Order pickers

Order pickers are specialized warehouse handling equipment designed for picking goods directly from storage racks onto a picking pallet, without moving the entire pallet from the storage area. «Alwark» supplies horizontal order pickers from the «Linde Material Handling» N series, with load capacities from 100 to 2,500 kg, fork lifting heights from 115 to 12,660 mm, and operator platform heights for picking of up to 14,500 mm. The range includes standard single-pallet models, lithium-ion battery versions, models with extended forks, and double-pallet models that allow two pallets to be transported simultaneously.

• Horizontal, not high-level order pickers — «Alwark» supplies low-level order pickers, where the operator works from floor level or a low platform. High-level (vertical / high-bay) order pickers, which lift the operator to significant heights within storage racks, are not included in the product range. For such tasks, electric stackers or electric forklifts are more commonly used.
• Standard or double-deck models — standard «Linde N20–N25» models are designed for picking onto a single pallet. Double-deck models («N20–N25 C», «N20 C L», «N20 C D») allow two pallets to be transported simultaneously, positioned one above the other, reducing the number of warehouse trips.
• Extended fork lifting — standard horizontal order pickers usually lift pallets to a height of 115–215 mm and are designed for floor-level operations. Models «N16 Li», «N20 D», «N20 LoL» and «N20 XL» can lift pallets to heights of 675–1,924 mm, allowing operators to pick goods from higher rack levels without additional equipment.
• Lithium-ion battery for multi-shift operations — the «N16 Li» model is equipped with a lithium-ion battery, enabling intermediate charging during operator breaks. This solution is often selected for warehouses operating two or three shifts, where reducing downtime caused by battery replacement is important.

What is the difference between an order picker and a pallet truck?

An order picker is designed for picking individual items from storage racks — the operator works from a platform or alongside the equipment and builds a pallet item by item. A pallet truck is used for transporting already assembled pallets from one location to another and does not have a picking platform. In high-intensity warehouses, both types of equipment are often used: pallet trucks in loading dock areas and order pickers in storage aisles.

What load capacity and lifting height are required?

The appropriate model is selected based on the weight of the load and the required picking height. The load capacity of «Linde N» series models ranges from 1,200 kg («N20 C L») to 2,500 kg («N20–N25» and «N20–N25 C»). Fork lifting height ranges from 115 mm, designed for pallet movement at floor level, up to 12,660 mm in models that allow picking goods from higher rack levels. The operator platform height in some models can reach up to 14,500 mm.

What is a double-deck order picker?

A double-deck order picker («Linde N20–N25 C», «N20 C D» and «N20 C L») allows two pallets to be transported simultaneously, positioned one above the other. This solution helps reduce the number of warehouse trips when preparing large orders or collecting partial pallets. These models are often used in e-commerce and food distribution logistics centres, where orders consist of a large number of different SKUs.

Do you supply high-level (vertical) order pickers?

In this category, «Alwark» supplies low-level / horizontal order pickers, where the operator works from floor level or a low platform. Vertical («high-bay») order pickers, which lift the operator to significant heights within storage racks, are not included in the product range. For operations at higher storage levels involving pallets, electric stackers, including «reach truck» models, are more commonly used.

Is short-term rental available for peak seasons?

Yes. «Alwark» offers short-term equipment rental for peak seasons (for example, Q4 in e-commerce), project-based operations, or as a temporary replacement during equipment repairs. Short-term rental can last from several days to several months, while long-term rental (12–60 months) usually includes preventive maintenance and, if required, replacement of the order picker in case of breakdown.

What warranty applies to order pickers?

New equipment is covered by the «Linde» manufacturer’s warranty. For used equipment, «Alwark» performs a 40-point inspection and provides a warranty of 3 months or 300 operating hours (whichever comes first). Spare parts are usually covered by a 6–12 month warranty, while certain components may have a warranty period of up to 5 years. Service work is covered by a 6-month warranty. Service support is provided throughout the Baltic market through regional service centres.
