Diesel or gas forklifts are material handling equipment with internal combustion engines designed for transporting, lifting, and storing pallets. This type of forklift is typically used for outdoor operations, intensive applications, and long periods of continuous operation. Alwark supplies Linde Material Handling H Series models with load capacities ranging from 2,050 kg to 18,000 kg and lift heights of up to 9,655 mm. This equipment is commonly used in quarries, construction sites, port operations, heavy industry, and other environments where extended operating autonomy and the ability to perform under demanding conditions are essential.

  • Diesel or gas — diesel models are typically selected for long-term outdoor operations and heavier loads where extended continuous operation is required. Gas (LPG) models generally produce lower local emissions and less odour compared to diesel models, making them suitable for use in properly ventilated indoor environments. Some Linde H Series models are available with both diesel and gas power options.
  • Load capacity from 2 t to 18 t — compact H16–H20 models (up to 2,050 kg) are typically used in medium-sized warehouses and production facilities. The mid-range H20–H35 (up to 3,500 kg) and H35–H50 (3,500–5,000 kg) models are designed for more intensive applications in the manufacturing and construction sectors. Heavy-duty H50–H80 models (up to 8,000 kg) and H100–H180 D models (up to 18,000 kg) are used for container handling, metallurgy, and other heavy-duty lifting applications.
  • EU Stage V emissions regulation — new diesel Linde H Series models are equipped with emission control systems that comply with EU Stage V requirements. This compliance is often relevant for projects financed through EU funds, as well as for certain low-emission zones (LEZ).
  • Outdoor operations and enclosed ventilated areas — gas models can be used in indoor environments provided that proper ventilation and air quality control measures are in place. Diesel models are typically used outdoors or in large industrial spaces. Electric forklifts are more commonly selected for warehouses with strict air quality requirements.

Which diesel or gas forklift should you choose?

Diesel forklifts are typically selected for intensive operations and heavier loads where long periods of continuous operation are required. Gas (LPG) models generally produce lower local emissions and less odour compared to diesel models, making them suitable for use in properly ventilated indoor environments while meeting workplace safety and air quality requirements. In enclosed spaces without adequate ventilation infrastructure, electric forklifts are more commonly selected.

What load capacity forklift should you choose?

The load capacity of the Linde H Series models ranges from 2,050 kg (H16) to 18,000 kg (H180 D). For medium-scale manufacturing and warehouse operations, H20–H35 models (up to 3,500 kg) are typically used. For more intensive applications in the construction sector or for handling heavier materials, H35–H50 or H50–H80 models are often selected. The H100–H180 D class is designed for heavy-duty lifting operations, such as those in metallurgy, port terminals, and container handling.

Does it comply with EU Stage V emission requirements?

Yes. New diesel Linde H Series models are equipped with emission control systems that comply with EU Stage V requirements in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/1628. Depending on the model and engine configuration, systems such as SCR (AdBlue) and particulate filters may be used. Stage V compliance is often required for projects financed by EU funds, public procurement processes, and certain low-emission zones (LEZ). Documentation confirming compliance for a specific model, including EU type-approval information, is provided during the order process.

Can you purchase a used or rental forklift?

Alwark supplies new, used, and rental H Series forklifts. Used equipment undergoes a 40-point inspection and is provided with a warranty of 3 months or 300 operating hours (whichever comes first). Short-term rental is typically used during seasonal peaks, for project-based operations, or as replacement equipment during repairs. Long-term rental (12–60 months) usually includes preventive maintenance and, if required, the provision of a replacement forklift in the event of a breakdown.

What warranty is provided and how is servicing carried out?

New equipment is covered by the Linde manufacturer warranty. Spare parts are typically covered by a 6–12 month warranty, while selected components may have warranty coverage of up to 5 years. Service work is covered by a 6-month warranty.

Service support is available across the Baltic region through regional service centres. For heavy-duty H100–H180 D models, priority service support may be available, as downtime of such equipment can have a significant impact on operational continuity in intensive applications.
