Linde electric forklifts E100–E180 with load capacities of 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, or 18 tonnes and various load centers are an especially relevant option for companies operating in the woodworking, steel, mining, and beverage industries. One of the first customers was a major furniture company. Zero emissions, quiet operation, convenient maintenance, flexibility in use, as well as precise and maneuverable handling all support the use of electric drive systems in the heavy forklift class. With a heavy-duty electric forklift, customers get equipment suitable for continuous 24/7 operation. Users can choose between lead-acid and lithium-ion battery systems. A special feature is the ability to switch battery technology at any time without replacing the equipment. This is a unique feature of these electric forklifts and provides a significant advantage during long-term operation.
A special drive concept with four motors — two for the left wheel and two for the right wheel — provides the power required to transport exceptionally heavy loads. This allows the most powerful model, the Linde E180/900, with a load capacity of 18 tonnes and a load center of 900 mm, to accelerate to 20 km/h in just ten seconds even under full load. From 4 to 18 tonnes, the most common energy technologies are now available.
The development of large Linde electric forklifts was supported by more than 50 years of experience with this drive concept. For example, the design of the new forklift series is based on the eight-tonne series equipped with dual drive, dual-lift hydraulics, two batteries, and enlarged pumps. The isolated rubber-mounted cab is also borrowed from smaller forklifts, but it has been significantly improved in terms of all-round visibility. An armored glass roof and large glass panels in the side doors, as well as the front and rear windows combined with a specially shaped counterweight, provide the driver with optimal visibility and safety during operation. The driver’s seat can optionally rotate by 17 degrees and includes an armrest that makes reverse driving easier. An orange seat belt with fastening control helps maintain safety compliance. The battery system can be adapted to different operating conditions, so various battery and charger options are available.
